27 The Marble Monk

After a long spell away from sculpting this is my first 'post cancer'piece. This pebble has been kicking around for some time in my garden and I always saw it as a Nun, but it turned out to be a Monk.

This will be the first of several more stylized pieces that I have in mind.

It is made from a black marble pebble of the same type that seems to be quite common in the area where I collect my pebbles. There is probably a quarry somewhere 'up river'that quarries this type of marble, I will try to find it one day.

Most of the original pebbles'surface has been retained.
