15 Horned Goat | |||||||||||||||
Following on from the curved, cylindrical shape of my previous snake sculptures, Beige Snake and Love Snakes, I was inspired to try sculpting a pair of horns, essentially opposing, diminishing spirals. The original marble pebble was not particularly spectacular but a quick cut revealed it was a dense white marble, ideal for shapes that have to be strong enough to support long thinning extensions. I am still baffled as to where these things are coming from. The finer details of this piece were done using a newly acquired air powered mini grinder, much easier and safer than an electric powered flexible shaft grinder. |
