01 Bowl One
This was just a mindless meander into working a stray pebble into 'something'.
Halfway through cutting roman style roof tiles for a utility extension to our village house and angle grinder in hand, apparently I needed a diversion. Quite why I started 'whittling' away at the pebble [which just happened to be marble] is a mystery. But whittle away I did and by the time my trusty helper returned from lunch a bowl had materialized, as if by magic.
This was the seed from which my belated interest in sculpting grew.
This item preceded my first real sculpture, Burma Girl.
The actual marble itself is very interesting with streaks of white, grey and gold.
